Thalaivaa (English: Leader) is an upcoming Tamil Action-Drama-Thriller film directed by A. L. Vijay and produced by Chandra Prakash Jain, producer of Jai Hind. The film features Vijay and Amala Paul in the lead roles, and features Ragini Nandwani, Rajiv Pillai, Santhanam and Sathyaraj in supportive roles. This film is preceded by Vijay's 2012 Tamil blockbuster Thuppakki. The Film is Expected to Cross the Boxoffice Record of Thuppaki.Thalaivaa (Thalaiva) starrer Ilayathalapathy Vijay, which is waiting for a clean U certificate from Censor board is said to be released worldwide on 9th August, 2013. The producer of Thalaivaa, Chandraprakash Jain is quite confident that the movie will cross 150 crores at the box office collection smashing the records of Vijay’s Thuppakki.

Vijay, himself has watched the screening of the movie Thalaivaa recently and is very much happy about the output of the movie. Thalaivaa (Thalaiva) is rumored to be a 50 crore budgeted, but harvested more than the budget cost. The producer has sold the movie for a whopping price. Thalaivaa is releasing worldwide in around 2000 plus screens on 9th August, 2013.
